  It was ridiculous. I wanted to get some quarters so I could play some games, and the banker refused to give it to me. She said it was the bankers choice if you weren't over eighteen. The bank closed at 7, and it was around 6:58 when I asked her. I think she was just being lazy. She acted like I wanted them to buy drugs with. My dad banks there, and I told him about it, and he is considering changing banks.

  This bank at North Ave in grand junction is aweful since we've added a checking account it's been nothing but problems. They've taken mine and my husbands id's for the account twice because they don't know what they are doing! Now my debit card wasn't working not for lack of funds but because they closed the account for missing my id after I already had gone in a second time and they copied it then.. what a joke the manager is a joke. She has no idea how to be a banker or simply filing paperwork. But tries to play it like it's not her fault for not having the copies of id's after 2 now 3 different times of obtaining copies of them?! I'm still waiting to hear back from her after this 3rd time. We will be leaving this bank. Common sense and customer service, they need to get it together.

  If I didn't have to leave 1 star just so I could write a review, I wouldn't. This bank has the dubious distinction of being the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. Yes, worse than the cable or electric companies. Worse than the DMV. Worse than the IRS. First, it took almost 2 hours to open my account. I should have stopped 1/4 of the way through. This should be a 15-20 minute process. Almost 2 hours? My god. Second, I went in once to deposit a $100 check. I had... many, many times (literally hundreds of times)... that much in my account. They wouldn't let me DEPOSIT the check. I wasn't trying to cash it. They wouldn't let me DEPOSIT it because they've "never heard of that bank". Well NO KIDDING! It's a small regional bank 2,000 miles away! Of course you've never heard of it!! Needless to say, I closed my account. Months later, since their web banking won't let me in anymore, I went in to this branch to get a statement copy. It's $3 each (fine whatever) but after looking it up they "can't see that far back". It's been 4 months. Seriously?! So, I have to call customer service. They tell me it's $5 each. No explanation for the discrepancy except "I'm sorry sir". Again, whatever. To finish it all off, after they verify my identity in every possible way, they then tell me that I have to mail in an actual snail-mail letter requesting the statement with an actual paper check for the amount required. What is this, 1985?! Long story short, I'll never, ever, ever do business with Academy Bank, ever again. I'm buying a house right now. Preapproved already. Wouldn't even apply at Academy. If they were the only bank in the world I'd live under a bridge and hide my money in a jar before I got a mortgage or opened an account with them.
